The 1st National Uniform CPV Examinations was in 1995. Thereafter a national uniform examination is held once a year. The examination encompasses five subjects, namely Valuation, Economic Law, Financial Accounting, Fundamentals for Machinery and Equipment Valuation, and Fundamentals for Real Property Valuation.

The examinees are required to pass through examinations of these 5 subjects in three consecutive examination years. Only when the examinees have successfully passed all the examinations set in these 5 subjects will they be able to apply for the acquisition of CPV certificate. Starting from 2004, this examination began to be orientated towards residents in Hong Kong and Macao.
